Switching from Medicare Advantage to Medicare Supplement
In the Medigap Monday video, Robert Bache answers your question:
“When can I change from a Medicare Advantage to Medicare Supplement?”
Watch the video and discover the two times per year you can switch from Medicare Advantage to Medicare Supplement.
Two Medigap Enrollment Periods
You can change from Medicare Advantage to Medigap Plan during the Medicare Open Enrollment. This Annual Election Period (AEP) starts October 15 and ends December 7. Furthermore, you can switch from Medicare Advantage Plan to a Medicare Supplement Plan during Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment. This period occurs every year beteen January 1 and March 31.
Annual Election Period (AEP)
Senior Healthcare Direct helps you find the right Medicare Advantage Plan during AEP. We can help you find an Advantage Plan that includes your doctors and medications. Thus, you can change from one Advantage Plan to a different Advantage Plan (Track 1).
Alternatively, you can switch from an Advantage Plan to Original Medicare (Track 2). If you choose Track 2, you can add a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. Furthermore, Track 2 allows you to upgrade to a Medicare Supplement. For example, Robert Bache recommends Plan G for 2021 in this MedicareBob video.
Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period
During the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment period between January 1 and March 31, you can switch to a different Medicare Advantage Plan (enroll) or disenroll from Medicare Advantage. Thus, Robert Bach calls the period Medicare Advantage Disenrollment in his 2020 video. Please read the story about George and why he switched back to Original Medicare and added Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
