Joseph “Joe” Ramirez is from Brooklyn/Queens NY area…..I grew up in Brooklyn and went to PS 171 in Brooklyn and then moved to Queens and went to Richmond Hill High School.
I moved to Florida in 1985 and have been in this area ever since…I love Florida. I keep active with sports including softball, basketball, golf, tennis and I recently took up disc golf. I love all sports, but baseball is my passion. I love The Yankees, but I still cheer for The Rays and support them by attending as many games as possible. I also support The Bucs and The Lightning. Besides sports, music is my next passion…I like everything from Metallica to Madonna and Adele to ZZ Top…I have 2 teenage boys that keep me active and young. I’m super proud of both…one is in Tallahassee for college (Go FSU) and the other is in high school and still carving out his own path.Insurance is my second career. I’m a retired auto mechanic. I worked at Sears for 26 years. However, I knew I wanted to do something different. I went back to school and got a degree in Accounting which opened a lot of doors within financial services/ etc…
After a few years, I realized I enjoyed the insurance side of financial services and started to lean more into insurance. I’ve been involved in all types of insurance from Life and Disability to LTC and Medical.
I started selling Medicare Supplement insurance 15 years ago and found my calling. I really enjoyed helping seniors navigate their way through Medicare’s minefield. I was a successful agent for many years finishing within the top 3 agents each month on my sales team of 30-35 agents.
I was promoted to Team Supervisor and then Sales Manager within my organization. I love to teach new agents ways to succeed with telesales. I get double gratification when an agent is successful because I see the look of success in their eyes as well as the confidence to know we just helped another senior with their health care needs.
I was with my last company for 10 years before moving over to Senior HealthCare Direct 2 years ago. I moved over to be with one of my good friends in the industry and because of the culture within Senior Healthcare Direct, I knew I would be a good fit and I would be able to help the agents become more successful.
